About

ForestFest is about bringing us back together. Celebrating rural community, forest and watershed health, and wood products innovation with good music, good food, and a good time in the beautiful Northern Sierra Nevada mountains!! Eleven live bands, arts and crafts for the kids, delicious food, and camping, all happening August 27-28 in Taylorsville, CA.

ForestFest is a revitalization of the Solar Cook-Off and Music Festival that was organized by Bill and Mel Rocket of Blackhawk Solar from 1992-2012.

After an 8 year hiatus ( plus a one-year COVID-19 pause) Sierra Institute is bringing the classic event back to Indian Valley! ForestFest will raise funds for forest restoration, wildfire mitigation, and community development in California's Sierra Nevada region.
